Rio Vista is one of the oldest communities in Fort Lauderdale and boasts the city’s most valued historical homes and waterfront residences. The unique and diverse architecture and natural landscaping only add to the nostalgic charm this neighborhood possesses.
The Rio Vista neighborhood is a community of over 1,000 homes and is famous for its active neighborhood association and strong sense of community. This area is notably popular with young families who enjoy taking advantage of the parks and playgrounds, community campouts, holiday parties and golf cart parades. Possibly the biggest draw of all is the neighborhood’s public elementary school which is one of the best in the county.
The scenic Rio Vista Isles, with an offering of remarkable waterfront estates, is a hideaway for some of the world’s most magnificent yachts and is also home to the Lauderdale Yacht Club. With only one bridge to navigate before entering Port Everglades, the isles remain a favorite location for yacht owners to reside.
Rio Vista is generally bound by Federal Highway (US1) on the west, bordered on the east by the Intracoastal Waterway, south of the New River and north of SE 12th Street (Davie Blvd.). Rio Vista is conveniently located just five minutes north of Fort Lauderdale International Airport, five minutes west of Fort Lauderdale Beach and is just steps from downtown, Riverwalk and Fort Lauderdale’s famous Las Olas Boulevard.
